Congratulations to Jerome Bettis
Congratulations to Jerome Bettis on officially being accepted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame!
I remember covering his final home football game at Heinz Field. It was January 1, 2006, and I had a media credential to cover the game that day. Oddly enough, the Pittsburgh Steelers were playing the opposing team from Jerome's hometown, the Detroit Lions. The Steelers went on to win 35-21. In the playoffs, the Steelers won all three games on the road to reach Super Bowl XL at Ford Field in Detroit, Michigan. It would be the team's 5th Super Bowl victory, known to locals as our "One for the Thumb."
