Thomas Jefferson Memorial Statue
Good evening everyone! Being that today is President's Day, I figured I would post something related to the occasion. Although the holiday is rather close to the birthdays of both Washington and Lincoln, I decided to post a photo related to another U.S. President. That being said, today's photo comes to you from the Jefferson Memorial in Washington, D.C. If you've never been to the monument before, there's actually a 19' tall statue of Jefferson in the center of the open rotunda. Also inside are various quotes and excerpts from Jefferson; One around the top of the inner rotunda, and one on each of the four porticos. If you're curious to know what the inscriptions are, head on over to the National Park Service's web site and have a look. It's pretty neat to see their relevance, even in today's society.
